Phishing is the ability of tricking people by getting them to give their identity.
What hackers basically do in this method is create a login page that look exactly like the original Facebook login page.
And then persuade or trick users to log in using that fake form.
Once a user used that page to log into his account, the hacker will get his login details, and thereafter sign into his account and change the login details.

The hackers just need to install the spy app on victims device and it will begin to send all of the victims activities to him.
This doesn’t require the hacker to know the username or password of the victims Facebook account.
4. USING KEYLOGGERS
Is another method which let hackers view someone’s Facebook data.

HOW TO PROTECT FACEBOOK ACCOUNT
1. PROTECT YOU FACEBOOK ACCOUNT FROM PHISHING
Hackers that use phishing technique usually use free hosting services to create a Facebook-like login page.
below is an example of Facebook phishing site.
And they usually send you a message through email or WhatsApp tempting you to log into your account using that link in exchange for a gift, promo or for security measures.
Users may find it difficult to differentiate between the Facebook login page and the phishing login page.
Below are the things that will help you identify a phishing site.
a) THE SITE ADDRESS
The number one thing that expose a phishing site is it’s address.
The address of every website is unique, so nobody can get the domain name of Facebook, www.facebook.com I’d only unique to Facebook Inc.
So whenever you got a message through email, WhatsApp, etc urging you to log into Facebook, check the address of the link sent, if it is not www.facebook.com don’t give your login details.
Any domain of .net, .org, .biz, .xyz or anything not .com is not Facebook property, so protect Facebook by not supplying your login details.
And another trick hackers use in phishing method to trick victims is the sub-domain.
An example of s sub-domain is BLOG.ABUASLAM.COM.NG, where BLOG is a sub-domain of abuaslam.com.ng.
You may get a message telling you about a promo, and ask you to log into your Facebook account.
The address may look like FACEBOOK.PROMO.COM.
You may be tricked, by thinking that this domain belongs to Facebook, the truth is it doesn’t.
Let me explain to you how to identify Facebook sub-domains.
Look at picture below:
The image above clearly shows that the first segment i.e BLOG is not a main domain but a sub-domain the last segment .ABUASLAM.COM.NG is the main and parent domain.
So with this explanation, any domain in the form of facebook.promo.com clearly tells that FACEBOOK is a sub domain and a belongs to the main or parent Domain PROMO.COM, it is a property of promo.com not facebook.com.
And any domain in the form of promo.facebook.com can be explained as PROMO is a sub-domain which belongs to FACEBOOK.COM
c) MOBILE VERSION
Facebook has a mobile version which looks quite different from the web version.
A mobile version is a lite version which displays contents that are responsive and fit in an Android screen.
While web version is a version for computers.
This feature helps immensely in identifying a phishing site.
Most phishing sites have no mobile version, so whenever you see that, don’t log in.

b) YOUR SIM SHOULD BE YOURS
Don’t let someone get access to your sim card, the reason is; with the sim card, your account can be hacked.
To reset a password, Facebook send an OTP to your sim which must be used to reset the password.
And once someone got access to your sim card, he can hack your Facebook.
c) YOUR EMAIL SHOULD BE YOURS
Never let others get access to your email.
The consequence is same as that of sim card.
In some instances, you may not have access to the sim card you used to sign up for Facebook.
So Facebook will use the email address to retrieve back a lost or hacked account.
